The
Sullivans explore new realms within Celtic music, applying their love
of music, history and ancestry to bring insightful dimension to traditional and
contemporary Irish and Scottish tunes.
Since 2001, the duo of Keith and Karla Sullivan have studied and researched the many nuances of music from the Gaelic realm, including early Irish and Scottish music and in-depth music theory. Incorporating this knowledge into their repertoire allows the Sullivans to ply traditional and contemporary Celtic music, yielding wondrous new breadth and depth.
Keith's highly trained finger style technique allows great freedom of interpretation when playing guitar and bouzouki, bringing Celtic guitar to a whole new standard. With two music degrees, Keith leads the duo with typical Irish good humor.
After playing flute for many years, Karla's love of history led her to the Gaelic wire strung harp, played prominently more than 1000 years ago in Ireland and Scotland. Nylon strung Celtic harp is also a favorite of Karla, and the newest instrument to her collection is the penny whistle, which she finds to be the most portable of all.
With their history, humor and technique - The Sullivans are sure to have your crowd clapping along!
